Second-year college students of Don Bosco Technical College Cebu showcased their creativity and technical competence during the IMS Product Pitch Competition, where they presented innovative Information Management System (IMS) solutions aimed at addressing pressing environmental concerns.
Guided by Instructor Ms. Joan Maris Rosos, the students engaged in a rigorous design and pitching process that challenged them to transform environmental data into actionable, technology-driven solutions for the care of our common home.
Rooted in the spirit of Laudato Si', the competition encouraged participants to move beyond traditional academic outputs and instead develop systems with real-world impact. The future IT professionals proposed a range of solutions including platforms for tracking reforestation survival rates, monitoring endangered species habitats, managing sustainable fishing practices, and improving waste segregation systems.
The activity highlighted not only the students' technical proficiency in information systems development but also their growing awareness of environmental stewardship and social responsibility. By integrating innovation with ecological consciousness, the competition formed students who are prepared to respond meaningfully to contemporary global challenges.
